It’s no secret by now that Kellyoke, in which Goddess Among Women Kelly Clarkson covers a pop song at the beginning of her talk show, is one of the best things to happen to daytime television in recent memory. We fell in love with Kelly when she covered hits like “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman†on the first season of American Idol, and now, Kellyoke makes us feel like it’s Idol all over again. Like today, when she covered “Juice†by Lizzo, a song that feels perfect for a Kelly Clarkson performance. Clarkson comes right out clapping and starts into the second verse with a level of confidence that would make Lizzo herself proud. When she sings, “I was born like this, don’t even gotta try?,†we believe it. Put it right next to her cover of “Straight Up†by former Idol judge Paula Abdul. Now the only question is: Can we get a Lizzo collab?
