Were you worried that The Crown was getting a little slow last season? Netflix really wants to promise that won’t be the case this time around. In the second trailer for season four of The Crown, Queen Elizabeth faces challenges to tradition on two fronts: There’s the rise of Margaret Thatcher, played by Gillian Anderson with lips so pursed that our teeth hurt, and then, of course, the introduction of Diana, played by newcomer Emma Corrin, who is looking for love in all the wrong royal places. If she doesn’t bend to the will of the Crown, what then? Well, you probably know the story, but The Crown grimly promises, “She will break.†The new trailer seems to be a mirror image of the first, which put the conflict with Diana first and Thatcher second, in what seems like a very carefully meted-out division of focus. The show’s fourth season, complete with every outfit re-creation you can imagine, will premiere on Netflix on November 15.
