Bridgerton hottie Regé-Jean Page was celebrated as one of the best of Black entertainment this weekend, accepting the award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series at the NAACP’s televised Image Awards ceremony on March 27. Anthony Anderson hosted the evening, which included bursts of humor like Issa Rae thanking fellow nominee Tracee Ellis Ross for not winning (“Bad bitches don’t lose often, but when they do, they don’t care”), as well as moving moments, like Chadwick Boseman’s widow accepting awards on his behalf and tearfully advocating for colon-cancer screenings. The NAACP rolled out winners for this year’s Image Awards in the week leading up to the TV special. Honors went to artists like Beyoncé (just off her record-breaking Grammy wins), Doja Cat, Drake, and Megan Thee Stallion. On the film and TV side, Soul, Jamie Foxx, and mini-mogul Marsai Martin picked up awards, along with beef-filled shows like VERZUZ and Red Table Talk. Among the other honorees was dad-podcaster Barack Obama for his book A Promised Land, while special awards went to Misty Copeland and LeBron James. Check out the full list of winners below.
