Emmys 2024 Red Carpet and Parties: All the Looks
If you’re feeling a little rusty on your Emmys knowledge, don’t beat yourself up. It has been longer than usual between the annual airings. The awards show that celebrates all things television normally happens every September, but since last summer was affected by Hollywood’s strikes, the 2023 show was postponed until last night. That means all the shows up for the awards are going to feel a little old, especially since the shows had to air between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023, to be considered for nominations. To understand how weird the timing is, just consider the last winner of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series was Zendaya from Euphoria season two, a show that feels like it aired ten years ago. But we digress.
Who was on the Emmys red carpet?
Ayo Edebiri, Jenna Ortega, Dominique Fishback, Claire Danes, and everyone from White Lotus season two, including Jennifer Coolidge and Aubrey Plaza. And let’s not forget Calvin Klein model Jeremy Allen White, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and our favorite gossip, Selena Gomez.
It was a weird night for fashion
There were some people who left us very confused, like Quinta Brunson in a too-wrinkled dress and Jessica Chastain in neon. Our favorites were Edebiri in Louis Vuitton, Plaza in Loewe, and Ortega in Dior. There was lots of red: Sarah Snook, Meghann Fahy, Camila Morrone, Abby Elliott, and Katherine Heigl all wore the color.
Matty Matheson wore fisherman sandals
Ayo won the red carpet, again
The Bear actress doesn’t miss. Last night, she wore Louis Vuitton and was our overall best dressed.
Speaking of best dressed, who actually won an Emmy ?
It was a big night for Succession, Beef, Abbott Elementary, The White Lotus, and The Bear. It’s also, if you didn’t know, Ayo season, as she took home an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Succession won Outstanding Drama Series; The Bear won Outstanding Comedy Series; Beef won Outstanding Limited Series; Kieran Culkin of Succession won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series; Sarah Snook of Succession won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series; Jennifer Coolidge of The White Lotus won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series; Matthew Macfadyen of Succession won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series; Jeremy Allen White of The Bear won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series; and Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (the first Black woman in more than 30 years to do so).
And Ali Wong and Bill Hader won for best couple, which is an award we made up last night. If you want all the best moments, right this way. Below, every look from the red carpet and some pre and post party pictures if you can’t seem to get enough.
