Don’t mess with the cat ladies unless you want to get scratched. J.D. Vance’s fictional mamaw, a.k.a. Glenn Close, who starred in Hillbilly Elegy, seemingly responded to Vance’s comments on “childless cat ladies.†On Sunday, Close posted a pic of her kitty on Instagram with the caption: “Eve would have left a bleeding mouse head in the bed of anyone who criticized any kind of lady with a CAT!†Close’s cat would’ve totally Godfather-ed J.D. Vance; look at those menacing eyes on that fluffy face! She means business. In the words of another cute cat: “Ladies do not start fights, but they can finish them!†Earlier this month, Close also shared a meme criticizing Vance’s policies on reproductive rights, referencing his cat comments again.
Vance has made several enemies from his childless cat-lady comments, including Jennifer Aniston, who criticized his views and policies from a reproductive-health angle, writing in July, “I hope [your daughter] will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.†Hell hath no fury like a cat lady scorned.
