Good Luck Getting Your Hands on Jack White’s New Album

A seven-nation army can’t hold you back from getting Jack White’s new album — but seven state lines might. The rock icon surprised fans with a new release today, and it only seems to be available at the three physical stores of his label, Third Man Records, in Detroit, Nashville, and London. The Detroit Metro Times reported that cashiers have been slyly slipping a vinyl copy of the album in with any purchase and won’t answer questions about it. A post on the London store’s Instagram Story implies the album is only available today. (A classic stunt from the man who once broke the record for recording the world’s fastest record.) As for the album itself, it’s labeled “No Name,†which may be the title or may just mean it doesn’t have a name. The Metro Times said it “sounds more stripped down and guitar-heavy than White’s previous releases.†And if you want to hear it for yourself, you better make it to a Third Man store in Detroit, Nashville, or London in a few hours — or be prepared to shell out hundreds on eBay. Your call.
