Is there a more accident-prone celeb in Hollywood right now? A visibly bruised Jay Leno told Inside Edition on Tuesday that he recently fell down a steep hill, breaking his wrist and injuring his eye in the process. “I’m all black and blue from 60 feet of hitting rocks,” the 74-year-old said, gesturing up and down his body. He also pulled an eye patch aside to show TMZ his swollen eye. According to Inside Edition, the incident happened just hours before the comedian was scheduled to take the stage at a show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, last week. Despite his injuries, he still made it to his show that night. He has continued to perform and hasn’t canceled any dates so far. When asked on Tuesday if he was still in any pain, he replied, “It’s not that big a deal.” So basically, if someone’s trying to curse him, they’re probably not feeling too satisfied.
Last year, Leno joked that he was the new face of comedy due to reconstructive surgery after several injuries. He previously broke multiple bones in a motorcycle accident in 2023 and suffered severe burns in a gasoline fire while working on a car in 2022. While it seemed like the universe might have been trying to tell Leno to stay away from vehicles, even doing that didn’t seem to improve his luck. The car collector told TMZ that he “didn’t have a car” during his latest accident. He said he was headed to a restaurant that was a mile-and-a-half walk away from his hotel and thought he would take a shortcut by walking down the hill. He definitely did find a faster way to the bottom … just not how he wanted.
