It’s a woman’s world — even in outer space. Katy Perry will be part of the first all-female space flight, through her friend Jeff Bezos’s company Blue Origin. Bezos’s fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, will also be on the flight, along with CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King. “I thought I wanted to open myself up to new adventures and step out of my comfort zone,” King said on CBS, adding that, of course, she got Oprah’s blessing for the trip. Engineer Aisha Bowe, activist Amanda Nguyen, and movie producer Kerianne Flynn will also be on the flight. There’s no specific date yet, but they’re expected to blast off this spring. The flight will go 62 miles above Earth to the edge of outer space, taking these women where Pete Davidson couldn’t go. We look forward to hearing if Perry sees any extraterrestrials.
