Katy Perry Is Back in the House With New Single ‘Lifetimes’

Baby, she ain’t goin’ away! Katy Perry is back with “Lifetimes,” the second offering from her upcoming album, 143. The house-inflected track (“Walking on Air,” anybody?) is dedicated to her daughter, Daisy, with Perry singing, “I know you feel it / Can you believe it? / I’m gonna love you till the end / And then repeat it.” In the video, Perry parties it up in Barcelona, where she first debuted “Lifetimes” in July. She’s hoping it can bring that pulse to her own beat back to 143 after the collapse of lead single “Woman’s World.” That track’s lifetime as a single comes in at 28 days, after it was roundly criticized, written off as satire, and only peaked at No. 63. (Not even a woman being nominated for president could save it.) Like “Woman’s World, “Lifetimes” is also produced by Dr. Luke, who Kesha accused of sexual assault. Fun beat, though!
