Well, if you’re going to reboot an entire cinematic universe, as Warner Bros. and James Gunn are currently doing to the DC Universe, you might as well just bring back your most popular actors. Jason Momoa, famous for being one of the few universally agreed-upon “good parts” of the DC Universe as Aquaman, is returning to Gunn’s new DCU, this time as Lobo. He will debut the role in the upcoming Supergirl film. Momoa confirmed his casting on Instagram by quoting himself. “I always wanted to play Lobo because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role,’” Momoa said previously. He captioned the post “They called.”

Lobo is an anti-hero alien and has never been portrayed before on film. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, starring House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock, begins production on January 13, per Deadline, with Craig Gillespie (Cruella) directing a script from Ana Nogueira. And while they’re recasting old DCU participants, we do think it would be fun if Gal Gadot played Arm-Fall-Off-Boy.
