Zoë Kravitz Is Really Grateful for Her Time With ‘Chan’

In October, some three years after falling in love on the set of Blink Twice, Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum called off their engagement, breaking the hearts of hopeless romantics everywhere. In the mourning period that followed, Tatum seemed to nurse his wounds by posting sweaty gym selfies and smoking cigarettes while looking altogether miserable. Kravitz, meanwhile, appeared to take a page out of the Sex and the City playbook by partying “all night.” Now that they have gone through the requisite healing period, Kravitz indicated in a recent interview that things between the former flames are, like, pretty copacetic.

“I care for him very much,” Kravitz said when asked about whether the breakup has changed her memories of Blink Twice. “Even when you bring up how great his performance is, it warms my heart to hear that, and I’m so happy that all of it happened. I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together.”

“For Chan specifically, it was about how exciting it would be to see him do something so different and so surprising, and something that I knew he was so capable of,” she added of Tatum’s performance.

Oh, Chan. I’m a little jealous Kravitz is able to speak so fondly of her ex-fiancé just four months after People first reported their breakup. But I guess you only have one first muse, and it seems Kravitz will always look back fondly on her time making a cinematic masterpiece with the man known to many as Magic Mike.

“He has so much more coming, and I think he’s in a place as an actor where he’s feeling really confident and people are seeing different sides of him,” Kravitz said. “He’s got a lot to offer, so I’m excited for people to keep witnessing that.”

You know what I’m excited to keep witnessing? Tatum’s Instagram account. He’s been plenty busy populating the grid with photos of Ryan Reynolds, his artistic pursuits, and cold-brew commercials. My only request is that he post a few more thirst traps. You know, for public good.
