Grimes has spent the past few weeks tweeting about her ex Elon Musk’s penchant for trotting out their 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, in public. In a recent interview, she formally addressed the ongoing tension between her and Trump’s most terrifying sidekick. When Time asked the singer what she made of the online reactions to Musk and X Æ A-Xii’s recent visit to the Oval Office, Grimes, who shares three children with Musk, made clear that her kids were not fair game for public consumption.
“I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere,” Grimes said. “I think fame is something you should consent to. Obviously, things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that. I can only ask, so I’m just asking.”
A few days after Grimes sat down with Time, she posted on X attempting to contact Musk about a “medical crisis” she said their child was experiencing. She quickly deleted the posts, and there have been no public updates about the child’s health since then. Her spokesperson declined to comment on the matter when Time reached out for a follow-up.
Grimes didn’t say anything else substantial about Musk in the interview. She did, however, offer some thoughts on America’s current leadership: “I just feel like everyone’s kind of acting like a baby.” Wonder where she got that idea?
