Television service approvals
If the BBC Executive wishes to launch a new BBC service, then it must seek approval from the Trust.
A Public Value Test is required before any significant change can be made to the portfolio of BBC services. The Trust has approved two new services in this Charter period – the joint venture BBC Alba channel and the BBC's first HD TV channel.
