Can you talk about the weather? Here are some sample questions and answers to get you started.

1. Cad é mar atá an aimsir?- How's the weather?

  • Tá sé... / Níl sé

- It's... / it's not...

2. Cad é mar a bhí an aimsir ar laethanta saoire?- How was the weather on holidays?

  • Bhí sé... / Ní raibh sé...

- It was... / It wasn't...

  • Bhí an ghrian ag scoilteadh na gcloch.

- The sun was splitting the stones.

  • Bhí an ghrian ag soilsiú ó thús deireadh an lae.

- The sun was shining from the beginning to the end of the day.

  • Bhí teas bocht ann ó dhubh go dubh/ó mhaidin go hoíche.

- There was a terrible heat from morning to night.
