Shopbop dropped a surprise sale on us this morning: For four days only, a huge selection of items is up to 40 percent off (though most items are 30 percent off, it’s worth noting). The contents of the sale are rather varied: A wide mix of end-of-summer items, like summer dresses and T-shirts, as well as warm things like puffer coats and fleece-lined gloves. And while I don’t usually hold my breath for Shopbop home-section sales, I did find nice kitchen accessories from Sabre and Dusen Dusen as well as bags from Paravel and Baggu. A few beauty items are on sale too, but those are only 15 percent off, which isn’t a great deal in my opinion — you can eventually almost certainly find most of those items for a better deal elsewhere.
Below are some of my favorites in the women’s, men’s, and home categories, but you can shop the entire sale here. And as I mentioned, the sale is only through Thursday night, so don’t hesitate if you see something you like — already quite a few items have very limited stock.
Women’s Apparel
If you buy just one thing from the sale, make it this. Our best overall sweater never goes on sale, let alone for 30 percent off.
I own a non-cropped version of this sweatshirt, and it’s one of the comfiest items in my closet.
Kule is another brand I rarely see with good sales. Its instantly recognizable sailor tee is 100 percent cotton.
Early gift alert: ultrafuzzy socks from Barefoot Dreams — maker of celebrity-beloved “supersoft” blankets — for under $14 a pair.
It can be surprisingly difficult to find a simple leather belt that’s not too pricey. This one’s just over $60 and comes in five waist sizes.
These subtly patterned gloves have nearly imperceptible touchscreen fingertips.
And the cashmere version if you’d like something a bit more luxurious.
If it gets cold but not too cold where you live, this vest is a happy medium.
If I lived somewhere I needed a puffer coat, this color-blocked one would be my choice.
Now’s the perfect time to snap up our favorite women’s rain boots.

A few Levi’s 501s (a classic) are on sale. I find dark washes better for winter weather — they hide the rain splatter.
The “forever relevant” Denali fleece jacket is one of the best you can get for under $200.

I love Paul Smith socks, so I’ll be buying this two-pack as an early Christmas present for my boyfriend.
Home and Travel
I’ve had my Baggu packing cubes for years, and they’ve become a staple in my suitcase. They make sorting shoes, socks, or whatever else you want supremely easy.

Several Boy Smells candles are on sale. I recommend the Hinoki Fantôme, which smells like a wintery forest.
