Gooding, Elba Get The Vapors: Blackfilm reports that Idris Elba (The Wire) and Cuba Gooding Jr. will topline the cast of The Vapors, Furquaan Clover’s biopic of the Juice Crew, the pioneering late-eighties hip-hop collective that included Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, and Roxanne Shante. Gooding will play Juice Crew founder Marley Marl, and Elba will play rapper Fly Ty. A warts-and-all take is unlikely, as Marl, Shante, and Kane are all executive producers. [Blackfilm]

Rossum Plays Dragonball: Emmy Rossum signs on to 20th Century Fox’s live-action adaptation of the Japanese comic Dragonball, produced by Kung Fu Hustle’s Stephen Chow and starring Buffy’s James Marsters and Eriko Tamura from Heroes.
