God of Carnage Cast Won’t Reveal Projectile-Vomit Technique

God of Carnage director Matthew Warchus says that perfecting the projectile vomiting is the thing he’s most proud of, although he wouldn’t reveal the secret as to how it’s done. “All I’m going to tell you is it’s got something to do with the sofa,†Warchus told us on opening night. Hope Davis rehearsed the stunt in a waterproof suit for about six hours, he explained. We grilled Davis when she arrived at the opening-night party, but she was tight-lipped. “I don’t know if we’re supposed to give this information out about the vomit,†Davis said. Is there a secret to aiming the projectile just right? “There is, and it’s a state secret that I just can’t give away,†she said. She described her waterproof rehearsal suit as “a Morton’s Salt girl kind of outfit with hoods and wraps and bungee cords around our wrists.†“We all got a little messy,†she added.

Jeff Daniels insists there haven’t been any mishaps with the vomit, even during rehearsals. “I mean, there is a little bit of a mechanical choreography that goes on, but so far so great,†he told us. After a pause, Daniels added, “I hope you didn’t jinx us. Thank you so much for bringing it up.â€
