The answer is infinity. Even so, the L.A. Times’ Patrick Goldstein reports, the Academy may be foolishly considering hiring a finite number of multiple hosts — with “different strengths and a different generational appeal†— for next March’s Oscar ceremony, because Hugh Jackman has allegedly decided not to return. Those who saw the disastrous 2008 Emmys will know that such a format is difficult to pull off, and it would seem like an especially tall order for any potential emcees following Jackman’s heroic performance at last year’s Academy Awards, and what’s sure to be a legendary one from Ricky Gervais at January’s Golden Globes. Can’t we strike a compromise and just have Jackman host with Daniel Craig?
