Another Jake: Sam Worthington will topline the Michael Mann—produced, The Fields — to be directed by his daughter, Ami Canaan Mann — about two cops investigating unsolved murders near Texas oil refineries. Again, Worthington will star as a guy named Jake, this one a local detective partnered with an officer from New York (or a flying dragon, pending rewrites). [HR, DHD]
Jin Gets a Job: Sounds like somebody didn’t want to give up his place in Oahu. Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim has signed on for a lead role in CBS’s remake of Hawaii Five-O. He’ll play the show’s Detective Chin Ho Kelly. Kim is the first Lost actor to get a new series for after the show’s May finale — in your face, Hurley! [HR]
Super Dad: The Shield’s Michael Chiklis will headline ABC’s Greg Berlanti—scripted drama pilot No Ordinary Family, about a family whose members “have special abilities.†Chiklis’s special ability will be to forget that Pixar made The Incredibles six years ago. [HR]
Thing Gets Two: Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton have joined Universal’s Matthijs Van Heijningen—directed remake of The Thing. Neither will play the Thing, sadly. [Heat Vision/HR]
Teacher Punched: Lucy Punch has been added to the cast of Bad Teacher, the Cameron Diaz comedy about a crappy seventh-grade educator. Punch will play another teacher with whom Diaz competes for the heart of a male colleague. So all the fun of Glee, pretty much, with none of the teenagers or singing. [HR]
Fonz in Pain: Henry Winkler will join the cast of USA’s Royal Pains in a recurring role. He’ll play an absentee father with unclear motives for suddenly reinserting himself into the lives of his wealthy sons. He probably just misses them, we bet. [HR]
