Dakota Fanning Half Butchers the Runaways’ ‘Cherry Bomb’

We’ve learned that Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart sing four songs on the Runaways soundtrack, and today, with Dakota Fanning’s rendition of “Cherry Bomb,†we get a first taste of what that’ll sound like. In a word: bad! Well, not bad-bad — although we almost turned it off after the teenager-y, overpronounced “skoow-uhl / fooh-ul†bit at the beginning, the rest was pretty decent. The juvenile “Mo-om†vocals remain painful throughout, but she gets definite points for effort and enthusiasm. And she’s a teenager, so she can’t help it. Anyway, here’s Dakota’s version:

To be honest, our biggest takeaway was that this is a pretty annoying song to listen to, regardless of who’s singing it. Thoughts?
