Masses of metalheads worldwide were surely crestfallen when metal’s big four — Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax — announced they’d be touring together for the first time ever … but only for a short stint during Eastern Europe’s Sonisphere festival this summer. Good news, then: They’ve just announced that the June 22 Sonisphere stop in Sofia, Bulgaria, will be telecast live into movie theaters internationally. Sweet! In the bands’ co-released statement, Anthrax’s Scott Ian pretty much nailed it: “Metal at the movies, two big horns up! It is unbelievably gratifying that this means so much to the metal community around the globe. Get your tix, grab some popcorn and get ready to bang your head!†Also most likely crucial for maximum enjoyment: alcohol, black T-shirts, and Buncha Crunch.
