Industry Roundup: Ridley Scott, DiCaprio, Fonda

Wolf Men: Deadline is reporting that The Wolf of Wall Street — an adaptation of Jordan Belfort’s memoir that previously had Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio attached to it — is now back on, though with Ridley Scott in early discussions to direct DiCaprio. The script is from Terry Winter (The Sopranos) and follows a stockbroker (DiCaprio) supervising a group of brokers that used the dividends they made from “squeezing clients†to “live extravagantly†… until they were brought down by the feds. Wall Street flicks: so in right now. [Deadline]

Fonda Goes French: Jane Fonda is starring in the French comedy Et si on vivait tous ensemble (And If We All Lived Together), her first French film since Jean-Luc Godard’s Tout va bien in 1972. Fonda will play an American woman who has lived in France for a long time and bonds with a young German ethnology student who is working on a thesis about the aging population. Uhh, because it’s Jane Fonda, we’ll let the bizarreness of this setup slide. [Variety]

Jacob’s a Bishop: Mark Pellegrino (Lost’s Jacob) has scored a leading role on SyFy’s Being Human, based on the British series about three “mismatched twentysomething roommates.†Pellegrino will play Bishop, the “charismatic but menacing mentor†of vampire Aidan (Sam Witwer). No doubt Bishop will be countered with a repellent but nonthreatening mentor with dark hair. [Deadline]

Ophelia Revived
: Lifetime has given the green light to Reviving Ophelia, based on the nonfiction book about raising teenage daughters. Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) and Kim Dickens (Treme) will play adult sisters who rely on each other “when confronted with their daughters’ problems.†Well, at least Kaczmarek has experience with super-wacky sons to draw from. [Variety]

Year of the Ratatat: Brooklyn-based instrumental electro duo Ratatat will be heading out on the road, playing a roster of North American club dates in September and the beginning of October, with things wrapping up October 9 at Terminal 5. [Pitchfork]

Horsing Around: Band of Horses, behind new album Infinite Arms, will be spending their summer and fall touring four different continents. After playing shows in July in North America, the group will then head to Australia, Asia, and Europe, before returning to North America for dates in September and October, all the while just racking up the frequent-flyer points. [Pitchfork]

Madsen Infected: Michael Madsen will star in the indie zombie film Infected about a father and son who have to fight a “deadly, rapidly spreading blood virus.†Lovely. [Variety]
