Since David O. Russell exited Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the list of directors in the running to replace him has been as eclectic as … well, as eclectic as the film’s odd mix of Jane Austen characters and the flesh-eating undead. Jonathan Demme, Matt Reeves, and Mike White were said to be pursuing the gig, and now Deadline reports that White has gotten the final offer. We fully support this, if only because it may get more people to check out White’s woefully underseen Molly Shannon comedy Year of the Dog. [Deadline]
