The British Academy released the long list of potential nominees for their 2011 awards, and Black Swan and The Social Network racked up fifteen and thirteen potential nominations, respectively. The King’s Speech also scored fifteen potential nods. Black Swan and The Social Network were listed as potential nominees for Best Picture, alongside 127 Hours, Another Year, The Fighter, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, The King’s Speech, Made in Dagenham, Shutter Island, The Town, True Grit, and Toy Story 3. BAFTA voters will choose the actual nominees from this list and announce them on January 18. Meanwhile, completing a sweep of the major critics groups, The Social Network was named Best Picture Saturday by the National Society of Film Critics, which consists of 61 voting members, who made the announcement at Sardi’s.
