It’s a day of creative differences for two heavily scrutinized fanboy properties. First, Albert Hughes has left the director’s chair of Akira, the live-action adaptation of the 1988 sci-fi classic, since WB recently got cold feet when A-listers like Keanu Reeves couldn’t be coaxed on board the pricey project. Still, the studio will try to find a new director for the film, just as Sony will for the video game adaptation Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, which just lost David O. Russell. We told you that Russell was cooling on the project in favor of The Silver Lining Playbook, and he’ll most likely segue straight to that next. Maybe there’s a better part for Britney Spears in it?
