The Kids Are All Right’s Lisa Cholodenko May Direct Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Lisa Cholodenko — who has not signed up for a new project since copping an Oscar nomination for The Kids Are All Right — is in talks to direct an adaptation of famed children’s book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. The source material, which follows Alexander as he has a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, would be adapted as a live-action movie, with (and this is the best part of Variety’s report) the potential for sequels. Cholodenko has apparently also been developing an HBO show, but no details are forthcoming. [Variety]
