War Horse Trailer: Spielberg Shows Us the Love Between a Boy and His Steed

Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 children’s book War Horse — about the close personal relationship between a boy and his horse, separated during World War I — has already been adapted into a play, one that kicked off in the U.K. and came over to Broadway this last season. Up next: Steven Spielberg’s big-screen adaptation. For his first flick since (gah) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Steve-O sticks with some of his classic material: war, people finding other entities during war (says one hilarious YouTube commenter: “Saving Private Sea Biscuitâ€), soaring inspirational film scores, the general quality of things feeling epic. A few other things to note here: The main character kind of looks like Anton Yelchin, but it is newcomer Jeremy Irvine. Also, seeing as the book was written from the horse’s point of view, is it asking too much for the horse to narrate the movie?
