Former Lost scribe Brian K. Vaughan, one of the forces behind the show’s impressive fourth and fifth seasons, has been hired by Showtime to adapt Stephen King’s 2009 novel Under the Dome, a story about Maine locals struggling to co-exist after getting cut off from society. A successful comic book writer and repeated Eisner Award winner, this is Vaughan’s first TV gig since quitting Lost in 2009. Elsewhere, Ben Affleck is adapting King’s The Stand for Warner Bros., which means that King’s terrifying, depraved creations will be on both the big and small screens in the next couple of years.
