After passing on the reboot last year, the network has ordered a pilot of the “visually spectacular one-hour drama†based on the other monster family sitcom. (Pour one out for Lurch.) Bryan Fuller’s adaptation is rumored to be an “edgier†take on the original, meaning, we assume, fewer dungeon jokes and more blood-sucking or bone-crushing or whatever it is the original Munsters did in their monster day jobs. Speaking of the old-school Munsters, here’s a fun fact: The original Herman and Lily Munster are usually cited as the first married couple to share a bed on TV (back in 1964). Turns out they weren’t, but as far as we can tell, they were the first monsters to share a bed on TV, so big ups to Herman and Lily anyway. The entire cast of True Blood thanks you.
