HBO Renews Luck for a Second Season

HBO has renewed Luck for a second season, the network announced today, after only one episode. (Starz still holds the record; they renewed Boss before it even premiered.) Luck’s second season will be ten episodes and should air around this time next year. The David Milch–Michael Mann horse-racing drama didn’t do all that well in the ratings — it pulled in only 3.3 million cumulatively, including the December 11 “preview†of the pilot, and the 10 and 11 p.m. rebroadcasts on Sunday night. Those numbers aren’t hugely impressive, but, well, everything else about the show is. Looks like Kurt Sutter was right again!
