Battlestar Galactica mastermind Ron Moore has lined up his next project. He’s heading up a TV adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander novels, Deadline reports. Outlander is about a British woman who travels to Scotland with her husband, just after World War II. While there, she accidentally travels in time to 1743 and becomes embroiled in both romance and regional conflict — think history, sci-fi, romance, and Scottish adventures. The seven-book series has sold more than 20 million copies, and an eighth book is due next year. (There are also series of spinoff novels and a variety of companion works.) Adapting a genre-bending series of megapopular books over several seasons of cable TV? Game of Thrones’ model is working!
