FX announced at its upfronts today that Charlie Kaufman is developing a half-hour comedy for the network titled How and Why. Kaufman will write, direct, and executive-produce the pilot about a man who can describe the ins and outs of a nuclear reactor but is clueless about life. Kaufman actually got his start in TV comedy, working as a writer on the ahead-of-its-time sitcom Get a Life. No word yet if the nuclear-reactor guy will have a friend named Charlie who spends the series writing a sitcom based on their lives.
