Yesterday evening, FX ordered a new untitled sitcom that stars Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence as a pair of mismatched Chicago lawyers. Like the network’s Charlie Sheen vehicle, Anger Management, the Grammer/Lawrence show has been picked up for a first season consisting of 10 episodes and if those 10 episodes score high enough in the ratings, FX will order 90 more episodes to be produced over the next two years. Bob Boyett (Full House, Family Matters) and Robert Horn (Designing Women, Living Single) are serving as showrunners.
The official description of the show, which FX ordered to pilot in January, says it follows two “Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court on the worst day of their lives. Brought together by fate and greed, they develop a partnership and friendship, forcing one another to find the balance between the ethical and unscrupulous in their professional and personal lives.†Show me 100 episodes right now.
