Jennifer Lopez is going to have a busy year. She’ll be judging the 53rd thirteenth season of American Idol in January, and it was announced Friday that Lopez will take the lead in The Boy Next Door. The 44-year-old will play a newly separated mother who begins an affair with a teenage neighbor and runs into trouble when she tries to break it off. Since producer Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, The Purge) is behind the film, a source told Variety it’s expected to only cost Universal $3- $4 million. Director Rob Cohen (xXx, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) is in talks to direct the script from Barbara Curry. No word on whether real-life Lopez boy toy Casper Smart will act as a consultant.
