Writer/director Cameron Crowe is working on his next movie in Hawaii, and The Wrap reports that Bill Murray is in talks to join the cast. The untitled romantic comedy follows a defense contractor (Bradley Cooper) who falls in love with an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone) after he’s sent to set up a weapons satellite in Hawaii. The two decide to work together to stop the satellite’s launch. There’s no word on who Murray would be playing, but he’s joining a supporting cast that includes Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride, Alec Baldwin, and Jay Baruchel. This will be Murray and Cameron Crowe’s first time working together. A 2014 release is planned for the film.
Murray’s other upcoming projects include supporting parts in George Clooney’s WWII drama The Monuments Men and Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, and leading roles in the comedy-drama St. Vincent de Van Nuys and Barry Levinson’s Rock the Casbah.
