Oh boy, oh boy. A little over a week after Charlie Hunnam left his role as Christian Grey due to “scheduling†issues, producers have reportedly found another irresistible male lead for the big-screen adaptation of the novel that launched a housewife movement. Variety writes that Jamie Dornan (whom The Cut introduced us to earlier this month) is in talks to replace Hunnam in 50 Shades of Grey. On the surface (which is all that matters here), the Northern Irish actor has the right qualifications to play the billionaire: Specifically, he’s a one-time Calvin Klein model and former Keira Knightley boyfriend. That alone is reason enough to start doodling his name in your PTA folder, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves – Dornan’s attachment isn’t confirmed and both Universal and Focus Features declined to comment. Meanwhile The Hollywood Reporter points out that supporting roles like Anastasia Steele’s roommate still haven’t been cast, so while everyone would like to get the movie out by August 2014, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see if that actually happens.
