NBC Orders Craig Robinson’s Pilot to Series

Today, NBC announced that they’ve ordered Craig Robinson’s sitcom pilot, Mr. Robinson, to series. The network started developing the show nearly a year ago and waited an unusually long time before coming to a decision. Mr. Robinson stars the comedian as a musician who takes a job as a music teacher at a middle school, and the pilot featured Steve Agee (The Sarah Silverman Program), Kumail Nanjiani (Franklin & Bash), Steve Little (Eastbound & Down), Amanda Lund (Ghost Ghirls), and Jean Smart (Designing Women) in supporting roles.

NBC has ordered six episodes of Mr. Robinson. There’s no word on when it will debut. The Office showrunner Greg Daniels served as executive producer on the pilot but has since left the project.
