The alt ending on the How I Met Your Mother DVD is one that creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas originally contemplated before settling on the controversial one that aired Monday, and it’s described as a “happy ending.†Said ending does not include any new scenes, it’s rather footage from the show edited in a different way.
