According to THR, Tatiana Maslany will star alongside Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds in Simon Curtis’s The Woman in Gold, about a Holocaust survivor named Maria Altmann (Mirren) fighting alongside her attorney (Reynolds) to retrieve her lost family heirlooms that were stolen by the Nazis, including a number of priceless Klimt paintings. Maslany will play the young Altmann in flashback scenes. While the Orphan Black star might not be the first person we’d think of to embody a young Helen Mirren, we know better than to underestimate the power of Maslany in a wig. Might we suggest the Rachel Duncan?
