In Barry Levinson’s new film The Humbling — based on the Phillip Roth novel of the same name — Al Pacino plays a washed-up, mentally unstable actor who gets involved with a friend’s lesbian daughter (Greta Gerwig) who has stalked him since childhood. But who will play a better washed-up actor: Al Pacino or Michael Keaton, who is also playing a washed-up actor in fellow buzzy festival pic Birdman? Only time (and Oscar season) will tell!
