Not Dr. Strange.

Over two months ago, we told you that Joaquin Phoenix was in talks to star in Marvel’s Dr. Strange movie. However, talks do not a deal make. Phoenix is no longer in consideration for the role. Then who is? According to Deadline: no one yet. Ethan Hawke’s name has been flying around, but Deadline suggests that is greatly exaggerated. It’s not clear exactly why Phoenix dropped out. Maybe Marvel didn’t like that he is apparently playing Wolverine in Inherent Vice.
