“There’s something happening here; what it is ain’t exactly clear,†are the lyrics Buffalo Springfield famously wrote while watching Interstellar. (How is that possible, considering that song came out 50 years ago? A fifth-dimensional being created a wormhole for Stephen Stills, duh!) So, to try to get some answers — since Christopher Nolan isn’t going to be any help — we hit the streets of Times Square. Catching them right after they saw the movie, Vulture’s Jesse David Fox asked people to explain what they think happened. After a lot of umms and hmms, we found a wide array of opinions — explanations as vast and diverse as that magical, humanity-saving galaxy from the movie.
