Deadline is reporting that Martin Freeman is due to join the increasingly stuffed cast of the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. Freeman’s role is unknown, but given that he’s Martin Freeman, it’s unlikely he’ll be playing a superhero. If we had to guess, we’d say he’d make a fine Henry Gyrich, but considering Marvel put Peter Serafinowicz in Guardians of the Galaxy and Chris O’Dowd in Thor: The Dark World, it’s possible Freeman’s just the latest British TV veteran to earn a utility role in the MCU. Either way, with Martin Freeman and Jeremy Renner sharing a press tour, Marvel might want to start the media training right about … now.
