According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal is planning a third installment in its lucrative a capella franchise, and is currently negotiating with Kay Cannon on a Pitch Perfect 3 script. There’s no word on a director or cast yet, but Hailee Steinfeld’s contract reportedly includes a third film, while Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson’s did not. Multiple reviewers of Pitch Perfect 2 noted how much Kendrick seemed not to want to be there, but giant piles of money have a way of changing those things.
