Chris Rock might be returning to the Oscars to host a second time. According to Variety, Rock is in “serious talks” to host the 88th Academy Awards, which are scheduled to take place on February 28, 2016. Rock first hosted the Oscars back in 2005; recent hosts in the past few years include Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Seth MacFarlane, and Billy Crystal. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has not yet confirmed the news, but Variety reports that an official announcement is “expected shortly.” Watch a clip of Rock’s 2005 Oscars monologue below:
UPDATE: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences just officially confirmed the news. “I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” Rock said in a statement. “It’s great to be back.”
