British director Guy Hamilton passed away yesterday at a hospital on the Spanish island of Majorca. He had made 22 films, predominantly in the ’60s and ’70s. Hamilton worked with Roger Moore and Sean Connery on the classic Bond movies Live and Let Die, The Man With the Golden Gun, Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever. “In the making of Bond films we are some of the meanest, toughest filmmakers. If we spend a million dollars it had better be up there on the screen,†he remarked about his directing style. Hamilton was 93.
