There’s a whole generation of children who haven’t been scarred by the kids movie-meets-body horror that is the 1995 Jumanji, so naturally Hollywood is looking to do a remake. According to Variety, the Rock and Kevin Hart are in talks to start in a “reimagining†of the kids book about a magical board game. The stars will appear together in Central Intelligence this summer, but Sony already wants to stage a reunion, because incongruously mismatched body sizes are always funny. Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) is set to direct Jumanji, which is set for a summer 2017 release. Kristen Stewart is probably busy winning fancy French acting awards, but is there any way she can reprise her role from the 2005 Jumanji spiritual sequel Zathura? Hey, let’s invite babyfaced Josh Hutcherson too.
