Despite mostly favorable reviews, The Grinder will rest permanently. Star Rob Lowe confirmed the show’s cancellation Thursday, tweeting, “#TheGrinder was not renewed by @FOXTV It was unapologetically original, smart, funny and had a murder’s row of talent.†The decision comes after a quiet end to the show’s first season. Although the trades were speculating The Grinder would have to vie for a season-two renewal against Fox’s other rookie comedy and ratings-struggler, Grandfathered, the latter has also been axed, along with Bordertown and Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life. In lieu of flowers, Lowe asks that you send your condolences in the form of retweetable tweets.
