Jon Stewart may return to fill the Jon Stewart–size hole he left when he left his chair at The Daily Show a little less than a year ago. You’ll remember that Stewart signed a four-year production deal with the network to produce “short-form digital content†— likely for HBO Now, its stand-alone streaming platform. At a Paley Center event, HBO CEO Richard Plepler said that he was “hopeful†that Stewart would make his debut before the general election in November. “We now have the flexibility to let you paint however you want to,†Plepler said. “[Stewart] has free reign to do whatever he wants.†The time is ripe, Jon Stewart! Grab that low-hanging orange!
