While the nation turned its weary eyes to the Democratic National Convention, Chelsea Handler used her talk show to hold a symposium of astute political analysts with inside knowledge of the Republican nominee: former Celebrity Apprentice contestants. Khloé Kardashian, Clay Aiken, Nene Leakes, and Lisa Lampanelli divulged their opinions on the man in question, using words like “narcissist,” “insane,” and “clown.” Lampanelli, who referred to Trump as “effin’ crazy” went so far as to suggest that he was untoward with the women in the show’s boardroom (imagine that). Clay Aiken, who took his own turn running for political office in 2014, said he thought Trump had a chance of winning and that was “frightening.” Not one of them suggested they’d vote for the Republican in the general election, but nearly all took time to praise the Trump children, because if Donald is running the country they know exactly which scions will be running the reality-show boardroom.
